A lot of ideas come to mind, the list of what what is needed in the classroom for that particular class, reviewing the objectives to ensure the content correlates and having a notepad available to enable me to remember any issues a student may bring to me or phone call to  clarify or notes just to follow up on lecture questions

The Course Syllabus is a contract between you and the students, so it is imperative for it to be clear and accurate.

Planning must be flexible. Things change in the classroom on a regular basis, so keeping track of the flow of the lesson allows the information to be tailored to the students for that given day.

I learned the ABC's of writing a good objective (A for audience, B for behavior, C for condition, and D for degree). I will use this in other classes and applications as well.

I have learned the really important of the checklist and syllabus

there are many different types of instructional components. I want to be prepared to utilize and become more comfortable withwith them in the future.

Another great review on the importance of structure when developing a course. Key elements of design are: Lesson Plan, Goals, Objectives and Syllabus. Know the text book you will use. Prepare handouts for the class as needed for each class. Keep current and relevant.

Being thoroughly prepped before class starts and having that additional support of a checklist is one of the tools, I will take with me throughout my teaching career.

I took away the importance of being prepared and organized for not only the class but also the material that you are presenting for the class period. The course syllabus on day one sets the tone for the course.

I found the explanation of a goal being where the student will end up and objectives are how they will get there very helpful. I also liked the way the parts of a syllabus were broken down to help me understand why syllabi are written the way they are.

I've always been a user of checklists in all aspects of life. And being interactive with students makes perfect sense to show them you are involved.

Preparation is key! having a checklist or notepad will help one remember important things.

The one thing that I learned and appreciated the most...keep a notebook handy and on me at all times.

The importance of arriving early and being prepared to facilitate student learning.

It is important to plan and prepare before a class because it allows you to be productive, make the most of your time and optimize your resources.

Have a checklist and a notepad handy every day to make sure I don't forget something or take notes for next time.

You need to plan and have checklist to stay on point and focused so that if last minute questions come about and or something goes off topic you have a checklist to fall back on to get back on track. That is why having a syllabus is important cause it keeps everyone on check.

I learned that the syllabus is a great way to hold students accountable. Setting clear expectations in the beginning is necessary to avoid confusion later on in the semester.

Comment on Justin Markle's post: I also find a checklist very helpful in order to make sure that I cover the important tasks for the days. I encourage the students to use checklists for their study and review purposes.

Learning the ABCD of teaching.
