Preparation continues throughout the entire class

Comment on Justin Markle's post: I feel that it is important to be prepared, and have a checklist. I would also have a notepad during class to note things as they arise. (Maybe make a seating chart with names to help remember students.

Planning and preparation for a course involves a lot of work on the front end to ensure success on the back end. One thing that I plan on continuing is always having a notepad on me with checklists (which is something that I've done since H.S.)

Having a detailed syllabus helps set students' expectations.  Have a note pad handy to take notes of conversations.

Creating a plan/road map for objectives is essential to maximize student learning.  I feel that I have a small amount of time to impart a great amount of information.  When I am focused on the learning objectives and come to class with my outline/checklist, I am able to successfully stay on task and get students back to the learning goals of that day regardless of distractions.  I am a Culinary Educator and we call this mise en place, or everything in it's place.  It's our mantra and way of organizing and planning our physical and mental work/tasks/objectives for the day.

I also appreciated the reminder to develop syllabi and other materials, and the learning environment, with the student perspective in mind; making it the most clear, direct and conducive to the learning process.

Planning and Preparation is an important part of instruction to ensure organization and ensure that all topics are covered.

Clear and defined goals and objectives

Keeping a digital notepad would be helpful.

jot it down. jot it DOWN

It's important to have a good outlined syllabus! to arrive early and be prepared and always have a notepad handy.

Be to class early and know your students and be prepared daily.

Come prepared with your materials and supplies and allow ample time to set up. Be adaptable to different learning curves and styles of the students

Be prepared for your class and students!

Remember a syllabus is a legal document for the students to understand the expectations of course.  It must contain a check list of skills the students should accomplish.

Preperation is key and will benefit you in so many ways.

Preparedness before and during the course is important. Objectives are important for students to get informed of what is to come and prepare. It's also important for teacher/student expectations.

Getting to class early before any of the students not only allows you to make sure you have everything ready to go in order for the class to move more smoothly, but also shows the students the type of professionalism you you have as an instructor and the type of professionalism you expect in return from your students.

Always review that course material before and be prepared for questions from students.

Preparation and planning is key to success. Be organized with course material and expectations.
