Allowing students to organize and partake in a community event can allow them to build confidence in their skills while giving back to others

It is beneficial to their learning when students are able to apply real life experiences to the content they are learning in the classroom. 

Building rapport is crucial in establishing trust. When a students feels acknowledged and respected they will be more engaged in their learning. 

Real world experiences allow for applicability to eventuals careers

Interesting concept that students are more motivated by higher point scales. Consider making assignment out of 100 rather than 10. Crucial to remember that timely feedback is important to enhance learning. Grading something 3 weeks late will not have the same value as returning a graded assignment the next class, and can raise student anxiety. 

REFOCUS. Acknowledge student differences. 

Be kind and fair, show your students you care. Be an expert on your subject matter, share your knowledge. 

Understanding students unique life circumstances and career goals are important in order to tailor your content and teaching style to meet as many students needs as possible. Having office hours and open communication with students is vital to build rapport and offer support as indicated. 

Plan: incorporate means to address different learning styles in each lecture

Varying ways of learning and information sharing can help to reach students with different learning styles.
