Coming from a military background the typing in all CAPS and blunt messaging was how business was conducted. This helped me understand and highlight some of the differences and how to overcome them. 

Utilization of different forms of communication and selecting those that are in line with my personal teaching and communication style for effectiveness. Setting the tone for professional communication.

As an instructor, I try to set a pattern and stay consistent with my communication. It is important to set boundaries.

I liked the discussion board grading rubric. If you want to get your students to participate in the discussion board, I think that the instructor should also participate in replying back to the students and also give their opinion on the discussion board topic.

I have learned that effective communication implies Conduct Code during online interaction in all forms, this could be a text message, email, or social media, it is vital to follow etiquette rules. guidelines to maintain healthy and effective communication.

Having a code of conduct and being stern about it is important. Structure in the classroom and online classroom is key.

It's certainly very important for the instructor to set and maintain a civil tone for online communication, both among students and between students and teachers!

The Communication Conduct policy/expectations is something I will implement formally - many faculty already have some kind of guidance, but I'd like something formalize for the campus.  Too often students approach communication like a text message to a friend - very informal, text abbreviations, etc.  

I learned how important it is to establish the guidelines at the beginning of the course and to make the rules of engagement transparent.

Great ideas of modeling Civity with rubrics and examples

Rules and guidelines are very important and making certain everyone understands the ground rules. 

What I learned in this module is that I can establish rules and policies according to school's catalog a swell as answering the  discussions and correcting discussions appropriately.

Managing communication in a clear and transparent method is important for students to be successful in understanding and clarifying questions.

A Communication Code of Conduct is very important and should be established from the start of the online course. 

Having a grading rubric provides a simplified and justified value when grading and providing feedback. 

I have learned the that in an online course there should be communication guidelines to enhance the course.  I will add these to my syllabus for future courses.

Be clear about what is expected from students when it comes to DQ responses.
