Communication between all groups/individuals involved, along with rubrics and collaboration are all keys to measuring good communciation with students.

As an instructor, it is important to encourage and monitor communication during the course.

I learned to take into account that participates may be of different generations. Being in different generations bring different gaps in their learning styles, as well as understanding of technology. Instructors need to be consiterate of this.

Students also need to be self motivated, have an open mind, and understand teamwork and time management to be successful in an online course.

Creating a clear and concise code of conduct when dealing with online classes is important. It is also important to set up communication guidelines for both the students and teacher in the course.

Rubrics to show how participation is graded are also helpful, as learned in another course.

This lesson taught me many different reasons to use certain online tools. The correct type of online tool can help make the message come across the class correctly. I also learned about the need to set up rules/guidelines with online tools. For example, setting office hours to check emails and such.

Multiple different sources are best when evaluating student work and growth.

Meaningful feedback is critical for the success of an online course. Also rubrics allow for constant grading, but also give the students the objective and critiria needed to be successful.

Creating a dynamic online syllabus is critical for the sucess of an online class/course. Also scaffolding activities and assignments as needed to meet the various needs of the students.

One thing I learned and plan on applying from this module is course consistancy. Many times in the past I don't save templates and resources correctly and then waste time going back and looking for the same resoureces.

Also making sure everything is constant for the students. Once they learn how a template is set up there is no need to mix it up. It only causes confusion especially during e-learning.
