Online Language: Communicating with Students --> Measuring Good Communication

You can measure good communication by having a rubric or by setting a pre-discussed plan about what is good communication for you as an instructor.  In sense giving your students the rules on how to be successful with good communication.

Show your students that you care with their e learning progress by sending them supportive emails and one on one chats.

Keeping constant with the communication and monitoring for poor or disrespectful communications.   

What problems if any instructors had with e-learning from a teachers standpoint?

By doing daily status checks with my students to find out what they needs are with the material, the course, and the content of the class. 

By encouraging students to participate through the use of break out rooms, side chats and asking students questions. 

Business as usual but from an unusual place.  Still be the same instructor but from a different location.  Still interact with my students, just as I did when I was in the classroom.  

Finding out what are the needs of my students during the e-learning process first.  Then teach the subject after the needs are met or have been addressed.
