You have to learn how to navigate the tools that you will be using on line first hand. This way you can make sure that the functions are working properly with the course. You will have to ensure the tool that you are using is being used for what it was intended. This will have a big effect on what the feedback for the tool will be for future use.
Camtasia sounds like a useful tool for quick tutorial videos showing how to use various functions of Moodle and Teams. Easier than stringing together lots of screenshots.
The different teaching styles were interesting and I can recall professors who are examples of each. It makes a lot of sense to use the tools that facilitate my style, and also not to get too caught up in a single style.

As someone who utilizes technology in his field, (Audio Recording/Live Sound), but has been thrust into the on-line environment, I find the discussion/module quite useful. It is forcing me to assess/re-assess the way I have been instructing and WILL be instructing moving forward in this new future we are forced to deal with as a world-wide pandemic has forced our hand. Understanding the new emerging technologys, and the diffences in each one that we can use for different aspects of our various teaching methods is exciting and has me re-envigorated me about the possibilities of teaching and utilizing new tools!
Is is important to allow students an opportunity to provide feedback concerning the usefulness of the technology tools implemented in the classroom. Although teachers may have the best intentions, the tool is useless if it does not met the needs of our students.
I learned about incorporating more technology tools which I can use with my virtual teaching as well as in the classroom. I had never thought of wikis or podcasts
I learned that it is important to receive student feedback on the type of learning tools used for online teaching. What may work well for the instuctor, may not work well for students and cause frustration.
From this module I learned that although there are many different types of online learning tools, you have to take time to make sure that you are using the proper tool for the curriculum you’re trying to teach. It is important to assess the functionality of the online tool before using it, while you are using it, and getting feedback afterwards to make sure it is effective for instructor and students alike

There are many tools an instructor can use for an online class, however tools should be used to benefit the learning process of the student. Tools should be assessed continually to making sure they are serving its purpose for the course objective. There are many types of teaching styles. tools support aynchronous and synchronous learningand allow different delivery channels and channels for feedback. A mixture of styles is appropriate to engage the students.
This module introduced me to different types of technology tools and how to use them in an online learning environment. I learned that depending on your teaching style and objectives for the course, some platforms can be more effective than others.
Online learning requires numerous tools and it's important to not assume that every student has access to them all.
The entire process first involves a serious time of introspection and reflection about our own teaching style or styles. Next, we are confronted by a vast array of technological tools available for our use. Then we look at our class content and the student population that will inhabitate our class. We have to decide which tools will be best suited for our instructional needs to deliver the content to meet the desired outcome for our students. Then we embark on our journey, realizing that we will face that inevitable cycle of STOP, START, CONTINUE which will, hopefully, modify our instruction into that ever evolving upward climb to excellence.
The use of technology should enhance the learning experience. It is also important for the instructor to match the appropriate technology tool to the instructor/student learning and teaching styles. Techonology has to be beneficial to the learning experience. It is important to ask for student feedback on the use of technology within the course so instructor reflection can occur to change or adjust technology tools being used in the course.
I learned that on-line instructors must research multiple on-line technology tools and select the tools that are right for their teaching styles. What I am most interested in is the idea of LMS's. In the past, I have used Schoology and Moodle. Now, as a college adjunct, I am being asked to use Blackboard. I am interested in learning everything that this system has to offer.
"Use the right technology for the job" seems a bit obvious, but outlining some different teaching styles was useful. I'd like to see a lot more detail about different styles and data on effectiveness of those styles in different situations.
I wonder if my inclass teaching style will differ from online remote learning. I am an authority teaching style in class but i feel it may transfer over to demonstrator
