Teaching styles vary, as do the types of technology used. After reading the definitions of each style of teaching, I realized that I am a combination of demonstrator, facilitator, and expert. I research what I teach if I am not familiar with the material. I always share examples and often use storytelling to illustrate what I am teaching to the students. I demonstrate nursing skills, but also demonstrate ways to read a textbook (paper or eBook), how to prepare for lectures by taking notes ahead of time, how to take notes in class, how to create concept maps, etc. I then provide students with opportunities to practice what I demonstrated and return the demonstration. I will incorporate meaningful use of technology to aid in the process as I assist students in remediating and preparing for content mastery assessments and the NCLEX. Last, I will continue to have the students collaborate with each other and me in problem solving to maintain an active learning environment and assist students in making meaningful connections that will help them commit the concepts to long-term memory.

Teaching styles differ from instructor to instructor as I share with my new students in freshman orientation. The five main styles are 1) authority, 2) demonstrator, 3) facilitator, 4) delegator, and/or 5) expert. I find that I am a demonstrator and an expert most of the time with the other roles coming in as needed. Going forward, I will pay closer attention when I move from one style to another to see if it’s the most effective means of teaching students in those moments. If not, I can try a different approach.

There are so many technology tools out there that are both engaging and effective for online learning.  However, it's important to constantly assess through various modalities the technology you are using to ensure it is still relevant, effective and user friendly.  Feedback from students throughout the course is a great way to navigate this realm of online teaching.

I'm excited to learn more about "curated" technology as a tool to elevate the efficacy of online learning.

Throughout this module, I have gained valuable insights into selecting and integrating technology tools effectively in an instructional setting. One key takeaway is the importance of evaluating tools based on their function, usability, and alignment with learning objectives rather than simply using what is available. I’ve also learned how seeking input from colleagues and researching best practices can help refine my choices and enhance the learning experience for students.

I plan to apply this knowledge by carefully assessing technology tools before implementation to ensure they meet both pedagogical and accessibility standards. Additionally, I will continue exploring innovative ways to engage students with interactive and meaningful digital resources.

Many tech tools can be utilized such as Blogs, VC wikis etc... and assessing these tools will be essential for optimizing your classrooms learning objectives and enhancing students education process

Leveraging technology tools in nursing education can enhance learning, increase engagement and improve overall education experience for students.

Online learning platforms can be convenient for the student but not always user friendly

To continue being "student centered" we need to take into consideration our students learning preferences as it may affect which LMS will be better to keep all students focused & learning.

During this teaching I have learned about the importance of using online technology tools to enhance teaching.

I have learned that all teaching tools are not created equal. It is important to use the appropriate tool for the content/project etc. By evaluating and reviewing the various types of tools, one can find what suits their teaching style.

In today's teaching with hardback books being removed from the classroom and replaced with E books it's important that Teachers find new ways to connect with a generations who only knows "technology" type learning.  Personally, I struggle with a generation who rather scroll through their cell phones then engage in their own learning process.

Technology can assist in the teaching style of the instructor.

Through technological tools I understood that it is very important to know and combine these strategies because it helps us ensure that you are selecting the most appropriate tool.

Assessing the technology you have available and planning how it can tie into the lesson plan will aid the instructor throughout the course.

I learned the use of technology can enhance learning.

In this module I learned the difference in the technology tools to help better teach with the appropriate teaching style.

In this module, I have learned that it is important to select the appropriate online tools. Investigating them and ensuring that it serves the purpose of the lessons and the learner.

different tools will help to have a successful classroom

I thought the different styles of instructor was interesting, and plan to mix it up more, myself.
