 I learned about three types of assessments: value-added, alternative, and authentic assessment.  The ruberic information was a nice reminder of how valuable these tools can be.  

Interesting to hear and read about the differences between Norm and Criterion referencee assessments.  I have a better understanding as to why Subjective tests are more challenging to develop.

Interesting to hear about the different types of assessment. It is important that formative assessment is an ongoing process taken at intervals during the term.  Summative should be given at the end of the term.  

The importance of selecting the best tools to be utilized in the classroom and to ensure the students provide feedback regarding the assessement tools.

I have learned how important having specific guidelines are and how beneficial rubrics can be to help assist with evaluatiions of the student's work.

It is important to ensure the teaching style will fit with all age groups and to a diverse population of studetnts.  Students must be open minded, have self-motivation and discipline in order to be successful in an online course.   

Nice reminder on how it is important for instructors to set boundaries with communication, also to ensure communication is clear.  I will set a detailed code of expected conduct so each student knows what is expected and the consequences.

 

It was good to learn about how technology can be an effective communication tool..  The suggestions on how to use the tools for information and the adjustments for each tool to provide better effective communication.  I appreciated the reminder regarding student feedback.  

 

Being consistent is vital when builidng an online course.  This gives each student a path for being a successful learner.  Using multiple teaching strategies is very important to keep student engaged.  

As a failitator it is vital to keep students engaged, communicate effectiely and provide feedback timely.
