There will be challenges. Recognize those challenges (with the biggest being lack of face2face contact with students) and identify specific strategies to overcome the challenges. There are a number of online delivery models. Two given were ADDIE and Gagnes which give the events of instructions. In other words, how will instruction flow, start to finish with each lesson. These model of delivery help with developing a good course, maximizes learning impact and minimizes the workload. as with all teachers, careful not to burnout. Pace yourself, draw the line between personal and work.

Time management and wokload management are very important to being an effective online teacher.
One of the things I've been concerned about is how to design an online course that's still engaging and helps my students become good problems solvers. My subject is science, and I really rely on hands-on learning. I have colleagues who, when asked to move to an online classroom, simply use the textbook online system where their students read the textbook, watch videos, and take m/c tests. So with this in mind, there was a section on LMS where they stated that properly used lectures, video, guest speakers, discussions, group projects and individual reactions helped inspire students to think outside the box, etc. It occured to me that this would make a pretty good template for repeated use in an online course, as all of these things can be translated online using technology.
Managing your time is essential. Work~Life
