I learned about the importance of the presence of the instructor in an online course. Instructors need to engage learners in meaningful activities and promote critical, in-depth thinking regarding the lesson topic. Additionally, the instructor needs to model the behaviors expected of the learners. Complete assessment grading in a timely manner, using professional academic inquiries to promote deeper discussions about the topic, addressing any academic and technical issues quickly to reduce learner anxiety and frustration will also assist the learner in having an exceptional experience in the e-learning environment.

I learned that every little detail of the course must be spelled out for the students, like area test timed, can they redo the test if didn't pass, are the questions the same on the second, or third try? All these little details need to be considered when setting up a class.

Be familiar with the online program, and how to deliver the program for student understanding. Prepared ahead of time by reviewing the material to be taught.

online learning is helpful if the instructor can help the student to navigate through the electronic system used, its very helpful to keep students in the know of exactly what is to be expected, how things work and what to do if they need help .

It is important to familiarize with the course modules and navigation of the course materials

Review courses and be prepared for students! Online courses can be hard for students depending on their learning style.

I had never considered dropping a student from a discussion prior to this. However, the recommendation was that if a student does not heed to previous warnings and consistently strays from the topic, they can be dropped from the discussion. To me, that is important in classroom management if all other attempts to manage the situation were unsuccessful.

I have learned that communication happen in a variety of ways.

Follow instructions, take notes and review for quizzes :)

Being prepared for your day is more important than them being prepared!

Organization and organization are key!

I have learned that is is important for the instructor to be familiar with the school’s CMS (computer management systems) to better help students navigate the courses and help them when troubleshoot any technical difficulties.

Preparation for the class is just as important as the class itself.

As an instructor, it is important to have a clear understanding of the online curriculum and the online software for tools.  Be prepared to answer student's questions, so it is important to review the course.

I learned a lot and also reviewed, dropping from a discussion and how to approach teaching from another point of view is great.

Online learning is not as easy as clicking on a few links to access and learn the curriculum. Prior to the start of the course, instructors must have a clear understanding of how to navigate the LMS and use it, what assignments and resources are included and how to assist students when needed. Proper instructor preparation allows students to have a smoother experience and reduces hiccups that will inevitably happen with technology.

I learned that body language is a huge part of communication which was surprising to me. I would have thought that tone of vise and the words you speak would have outweighed the importance of body language.

In an e-learning environment, learners have a higher sense of comfort and security when they are convinced that someone will be there to support them and make their learning experience a successful one. This is where you, the instructor, come in. Your ability to manage the learning environment and each learner's learning experiences, and to provide informative and constructive feedback in a timely manner, is of prime importance to your success as an online instructor.

Review your contract to ensure that you fully comprehend your roles and responsibilities as an online instructor. Among some particulars to which you should pay attention are:

Turnaround times for student inquiries.
Deadline for submitting final grades.
Conditions under which you can grant extensions.
Policies governing plagiarism.
Number of virtual office hours you are required to maintain

In the Course Delivery section of Online Teaching Techniques, I have learned the importance of creating an engaging and interactive learning environment. Key takeaways include:

Clear Course Structure: Organizing content in a way that is easy to navigate helps students stay on track.
Effective Communication: Using multiple channels (discussion forums, emails, and announcements) ensures students receive important information.
Student Engagement Strategies: Incorporating multimedia, discussions, and active learning techniques keeps students involved.
Timely Feedback: Providing prompt and constructive feedback enhances the learning experience.
I plan to apply these strategies by designing well-structured online modules, fostering interactive discussions, and ensuring timely communication with students.

In this module I learned about some key important things to communication. Something I didn't think about that this module taught me was that face to face communication seems the easiest and people can think they are over prepared for it so they don't structure their conversations often missing key points that needed to be discussed.
