Activity

This lesson reminds us that each student has a different learning style. It is our responsibility as instructors to make sure that we are rotating the way we instruct as to make sure everyone's learning styles are covered to help engage our students and ensure the greatest success.

Making sure that there is a clear understanding of what is necessary for any projects/things that are going to be graded. Using a detailed outlined rubric helps with that.

It is important to be compassionate and understanding that technology can sometimes be a problem, which could lead to frustration and the student being upset.

Because part of the course is an online forum, you need to make sure that you are effectively communicating with the students to make sure everyone is given the opportunity to reach you if they have any questions or concerns, and to also make sure that they have the proper resources they need to succeed.

I learned that with online learning, email will be more than likely the most used way of communication, and being and keeping up with that will is effective for productive communication.

Knowing and learning the different ways people learn will help you teach the material for everyone.

Even in an online forum, getting to know your students will help make learning a comfortable environment so it is personal experience.

Making sure you know how to use the system helps instruct in an online format to make sure everyone is getting out of learning as possible.

I learned that adults have a shorter attention span and that you need to adjust they way you deliver the content in order to make sure that everyone has the ability to learn the most effective way.

Introducing yourself to your students help make them feel more comfortable and a better classroom environment for which to have open discussions and questions.
