What I learned, and how I intended to apply it.
I learned that to be the facilitator of the online courses I must understand the expectations of the course, even though I may not be an expert on that subject. The online teacher is the one presenting the materials the students need, I must understand how to access the materials need to support the students in the online class, whether it be guiding reading notes, resenting quizzes, or reviewing.
As a online instrutor, it is very important to teat it like you are in front of the student
Communication is an essential part of online learning. Effective communication makes teaching and learning smooth
The E-learning environment opens new doors to the path of learning for our students. As an instructor I can engage in the E-learning Enviromint in new and challenging ways to ensure to facilitate the students online experience and learning!
Its essential that as the instruction I have a from grasp on "Where we are going?" as a class as well as "How are we going to get there?". Its also important that as an instructor I'm providing high quality content as well as getting the class actively engaged in the learning process. The more I'm able to do this, the better the students will effectively absorb what is being presented.
As an instructor with fully online students, I have to use great communication skills and find a way to effectively teach my students what they need to know.
Students are more comfortable and engaged when they have the support of their instructor
Everyone has a different style. This includes both students and instructors. It is important that people are open to trying different techniques. Support is always kep.
Strcuture of content is the biggest component. Being a knowledgable instructor in whatever the lesson is based, is very important as well. It is helpful to take feedback from other instructors, to learn and grow.
A well managed and able to navigate CMS or LMS is effective.
The on-line learning system provides a virtual learning environment that, although technically more challenging, can be as equally effective as in-person learning.

Be constantly conscious of timeframes -

I appreciate the information provided and how it will assist me to relay messages more effectively. I plan to be more aware during my financial aid processes with each student to ensure their comfortability. Understanding something as simple as changing the avenue in which a message delivered will build a stronger rapport consistently.
I have learned to go thru everything as if I was taking the class to make sure it all works properly and is easy to access.
Most popular course design, course management systems, factors that lead to student frustration and why different instructors take different methods to their goals.
For the benefit of the student’s progress and a less stressful environment, we will increase technical assistance for resolving software issues and expedite problem-solving for instructors and students. Encourage peer-to-peer learning, as well as peer-to-peer feedback and intellectual exchange in the classroom- to increase engagement. Include more user-friendly menus to simplify the navigation through courses.
I learned that in order for students to be successful in the online environment, the instructor must be prepared for all types of learners. Communication is going to be key to ensuring the students and instructor are on the same page and understand the platform and navigation of the CMS. Structure, including clear expectations for the courses are necessary for student success.
It makes sense that even though e-learners have chosen an online environment, they still want the support of an actual teacher. As a teacher for online instruction, I will be more effective if I can understand the perspective of my students by familiarizing myself with the same process of learning that they are experienceing. The more familiar I am with the deadlines, media, interaction features and content contained in the CMS, the more supportive I can be as the instructor.
