As an online instructor, I will get familiar with the course content and do the assignments myself to understand where the students might be difficulties. I will post content that will target the different types of learners to facilitate students.
I defeninately think understanding the course content before responding to my students responses is key. I review the presentation and notes before i engage in the conversation. I also like to know where my students got their information from.
I found the online course charactaristics an intersting way to understand what needs to be present in an online course.
I have learned so far that there are many different ways to help students succeed. It is important as an instructor to learn all the technology in how to set up an online class, for students to communicate successfully. It is important to know The CMS system and know how to navigate through the different page to the rooster, gradebook, etc. I am aware it may take some time to be familiar with working on the instructor side of things instead of the student side. It is always good to have a peer to work out the issues.
Stucture of content and ensuring one is familiar with all aspects relevent to facilitating/managing the coure via CMS is crutial to ensuring content is delived in a logical and meaningful way as well as in an engaging format.
Task and technical support that can be used by instructors at any time
It is apparative to know the CMS and how it operates from all levels. Instructors, students, Technical etc. So many tools to help enlighten the students knowledge in the course.
I have learned that no two instructors will have the same delivery method, but it is imperative that each instructor follow all contractual guidelines to reach the same endstate.

I think one of the most useful points was making sure to do your best to minimize learner frustration through instructor support, technical support, and preparation of the instructor.
I learned that thorough knowledge of the delivery system is key. Being able to put yourself in the shoes of the student and what they can possibly go through will make it easier to assist them if a problem arrises. Making sure they follow the module plan is extreamely important, so that progress can be tracked and feedback can be streamlined
I have learned about the varios forms of communication with students or different people online, to have a succesful relation with them.
Famaliarity with the CMS used will help in delivering the ideal enviroment for each student.
Dropping students from discussion threads is a new suggestion I haven't heard of before
To help the students succeed, the instructor needs to be present, engaged, and organized.
It's just as important to respond to student questions in an online environment as it is in an in-person environment. Professors need to familiarize themselves with the technology they are using.
General review, always beneficial in remembering the structures realted to online learning
Despite the convenience of sending an email, there is simply too much room for miscommunication and no immediate feedback to correct such misunderstanding. Face to face conversation with proper use of "guardrails" is ideal.
I think it best to be very familiar with the content. Be organized with clear and concese modules and be ready to answer any questions the students have.
I will be available 7 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm to answer any questions or concerns the students may have through email, text and REMIND messaging. Encourage students to participate in class discussion. Give extrea points or incentive to students actively participating in class discussion.
The CMS is the most important aspect of the Online Delivery System. If the student or faculty member does is not familiar with the tools available they are not maximizing the experience. Also if the CMS does not function correctly, the experience for everyone can be very frustrating. Good training for students and faculty is very important.
