As an instructor it is very important to keep the student engaged in learning by asking right questions at the right time.

It is critical to be encouraging to engage ant NOT to make the student feel lesser!

From this module, I’ve learned that effective questioning is one of the most powerful tools an instructor can use to promote critical thinking and active learning. The way questions are framed can guide students toward deeper understanding and self-discovery. I plan to apply this by using open-ended questions that encourage discussion, checking for comprehension throughout lessons, and prompting students to explain their reasoning instead of just giving answers.

Education should be dialogue-and exchange between instructor and student. 

using Q&A techniques  lets the students understand better

I loved some of the ways to use questions in class and how to handle situations when you do not know the answer or when students do not have any questions. Great ideas!

Using a variety of Q&A techniques will allow my students a variety of ways to learn and to understand what we might be going over on a specific day.

I noticed that sometimes my questions to the students are to vague and they have difficulties coming up with the answer i am looking for. I will try and make my questions more precise to attempt to leave the students searching for an answer

Talking with students to see how they learn will help me to see who needs something different then you are used to teaching. 

This module helped me see how questioning and learning chains go hand in hand to create meaningful learning. I learned that questioning isn’t just about checking for understanding. It is about guiding students to think deeper and connect ideas.

 

The Socratic Method is a teaching strategy that involves asking students open-ended questions in reference to the covered topic to encourage critical thinking and independent learning. The instructor performs as if not knowing the topic to encourage dialogue. This approach encourages and guides the students to new ideas and poses contradictions in their initial approach. The instructor then guides the student to new ideas and corrects any misconceptions and assumptions.

Questions check for student understanding, so it is important to utilize this method properly to get students engaged and ensure that you are properly delivering the course material. 

Asking questions , not only focuses on understanding , but it helps find the weakness , and the way to enhance the learning experience.   

When doing lesson plans, add time and space for activities that would lead to discussions.  Not wait till the end of class to ask "does anybody have any questions?"  

Asking questions in a variety of different ways can help your students think of the lesson from multiple perspectives.

Asking questions is a great a great tool for class to focus on critical content.I will start to record myself to insure my interactions is effective having questioning students.

Students sometimes don't ask questions because they don't know how to ask the question or even what the right question is. asking questions to stimulate their mind on the particular theory you are trying to instruct. The brain craves knowledge and information. also help to engage the students learning style helps to ask there questions to get them to open up in from of their peers is some time intimidating, but reward its on us to show them the right direction.

I can empathize with the idea that students sometimes don't ask questions because, they may not know "what to ask" if they don't have understanding of the lesson.  Teaching many ESL students I can attest that questioning in an inviting and patient tone along with positive reinforcement on the part of the answer that was correct really encourages future participation and motivation to keep learning. 

Questioning is an excellent tool for engaging a class to focus on critical content. It is particularly important for the instructor to be a good listener and not discourage students from participating by cutting them off or criticizing responses. Instructors should have a plan for utilizing questions and evaluating if the questions are appropriate for the responses that they are getting. One technique is to record yourself as an instructor to ensure that your interaction with the class is effective with using questioning. 

Can't have a good answer without a great question, and the way you ask the question will reflect in your student's responses. 

Ask questions to see how well the information is being retained.
