I feel like this helped me understand how important the process of questioning really is. I need to plan my questioning process to give students a chance to think and build on each other's responses. I hadn't previously thought that much about how I was asking the question.

How to handle incorrect and partially incorrect answers.

Actively listening to a students question will build credibility not only with the student but with the other learners in the classroom. This should give the others more confidence in asking questions in the future.

The students will eventually become the teachers and our teaching styles will be reflected in their teaching of others in the future.  "Why" questions allow for deeper reflection than "what" questions and may prove more effective in influencing positive outcomes.

Questions are making discussions and teaching more attention to the students because the will be constantly listening. It give reinforcement .

That questioning students throughout the class is not only important, but there is also a proper set of techniques that are to be implement to generate and encourage student participation.

I believe developing my questions will be a priority and in the past, I focused on content more.

There a different types of questions which require different timing in regards to when within a session they might be best appropriate

It's a good idea to prepare questions in advance that are a good level to encourage student participation and it makes a big difference to be supportive from the first class to build comfort for students to answer.

Questioning is an important tool in learning.  As instructors, we need to ask good questions that will encourage students to think through their own understanding of a topic, and that will allow them to express their understanding of that topic more fully.

Questions is a tool that can be used several ways. I like getting questions from my students and also asking my students question to keep the engaged and to test their knowledge on the content.

An effective way of developing concept-principle learning is through questioning.

The socratic method is much more involved than merely asking any question. There is an art and science to the type of questions asked and the intended response levels from the students.

I'm a fan of progressive questioning in the Socratic style to tease out the learning objectives using as much student contribution as possible.

use open ended questions and get the entire class involved, if it an incorrect answer prompt for the correct answer.

Being cautious when responding to a student's answer to a question is very important. We don't want to make them feel stupid or like we're trying to embarrass them. Also give everyone an opportunity to respond.

Questions are good it lets you know what they are learning and understanding

though I am familiar with several questioning techniques, I enjoyed exploring the Socratic method of inquiry

Understanding and really knowing my material during lecture I know how and when to ask questions for my students. I can tell by their body language how to ask the question. I want my students to gain confidence and knowledge.

ED103 - Questioning Techniques

I found this portion of the course very informative for three main reasons: 1) understanding the different questioning techniques, 2) handling student questions, 3) how to broaden the array of questions to enhance adult education. The information describing the eight questioning areas such as precision, clarity, and logic were enlightening.
