The biggest take away is that you need to lead by example and that it is not necessary to be student friend, but to have a professional boundaries with student. It is important to make sure that you, as the instructor, does not become a student personnel counselor.
The biggest take away from this module is the concept of modeling professional behavior. Students tend to follow the examples in demonstrations, to the letter in most cases. Why would the mannerisms and actions of the teacher not be emulated?

You cannot facilitate student development and learning without having a good plan for self-development. Keep relevant or fade into antiquated obscurity.

This module reinforced the concept of modeling, managing, and being a motivator are critical components for every teacher and should be applied by modeling professionalism within the classroom. I will continue to implement these principles within my classes.

I thought I already knew what Professional Development was. I found that being reflective is not the priority, instead it is identifying specific training and applying timelines for accomplishment. I can see how I use my professionalism by coming to clinical dressed appropriately, ready to interact, with all supplies. I provide extensive feedback for work provided and am very upbeat about their experiences.
I personally had taken from this course is to be a model, a manager, and a motivator are the 3 keys to maintaining a successful classroom. I would have never thought about it, but it is definitely a huge aspect when I thought about having a great professor in college.
