This lesson validates the importance of professional development plan as well as being creative, inspiring, to the overall process and growth for our students.
Everything was just good reminders of what to do, what not to do, and encouragement to keep on doing what I'm doing.
In this module, I have learned that appearing professional and organizing content and material that needs to be conveyed to the students stems from purposeful prior knowledge and preparation. Also, that the student outcome is a reflection of the wealth of material and preparation that the instructor infuses in the beginning
The most engaging this I learned was to be genuinely excited about my teaching area. Looking back at my previous instructors this was the one thing that made the biggest difference in my interest level in the class.
I have learned to print materials and exercises for the students to complete during class to make them engage. The information is retained more by the student.
This will be my first time teaching, and I must say this course was interested. One thing I did take away was the 5 C's. Being Credible, Candid, Compassionate, Committed, and Clear. Understanding the 3 area of competent are a good way to learn your strength and weakness.
Being an effective instructor goes well beyond your level of knowledge in the subject you are teaching. Preparation, availability, professionalism, respect, authority, are all essential characteristics of a good instructor.
The professors/instructors that made learning easy and enjoyable for me always had energy and passion for the subject and also were very professional (the way they presented themselves) and had lots of respect towards the students. Utilizing these traits can increase my abilities as an instructor.
Human resource management is a dimension of a teaching professional's skillset.
I learned that you must show professional at all times not just in class but as well out of class. How to set the tone for the classroom
At the end of the day we are the example of what we are trying to teach.
This module has reminded me of the importance of being a professional model, and a constant motivator. We project a professional model through our dress, language, conduct, and our punctuality. Motivation is also extremely important. We have to be a constant support to our students. If they feel like they are noticed and important, then they are more likely to succeed in your course.
It is important that we as instructor are models, managers and motivators. What we do, say, and act has a lasting impression good or bad on learning. We have to practice what we preach .
Through learning about teaching models, I have gained a deeper understanding of the instructor's role as a role model, manager, and motivator. I have also learned how important professionalism is in creating a positive learning environment. I intend to apply this by modeling professionalism in my clinical setting, effectively managing student learning, and motivating students to build confidence and critical thinking skills. I will use both communication skills and create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
I was reminded how important it is to keep in mind your instructional style, this involves one's personality and competencies into a presentation format.
I have learned that it is very important to model appropriate professional attire and attitude, as I am in a professional role. This also reminds students that I am professional and serious in my role, and that model should be a reminder to them that they are expected to do the same in the future in their professional roles. Keep my boundaries with in my role as to maintain respect as their instructor, and to remind them that I can be friendly and caring but I am not going to be a pal as a friend outside of the professional role.
This module taught me, the values and teaching styles. That I would need for my students as teacher. How being professional makes an impact and shows the students that I am a role model, in conduct and learning.
this lesson taught me that an instructors experience, image and attitude determines your classroom success with the students.
This lesson helped me see what areas I may need improvement in as an instructor. I learned different teaching styles impact the students and their retention.
Alway be consistent an instructor and remember that constantly evolving as a dynamic instructor is key to the students of this day and age.
