Activity

The online learning forum bring the classroom to a more diverse group of students

Know your students and do not be dismissive or overbearing.  Have an environment of learning.

Keeping all types of students engaged - and how to handle the over talkers and no talkers

I like the learning to be interactive, engage the students, make them critically think.  And instead of first saying no or that is wrong I commend what was right FIRST then offer suggestions or corrections on how to guide to further a more correct answer.

This was very helpful, needing to see the students as "adult learners" more focused towards their new and up and coming careers than just a student who's has just graduated from HS, with the full support of mom and dad.  Knowing more of what the student struggles and ways to help, keep them focused, and encourage.

Being prepared, showing my own enthusiasm, professionalism - someone else said it "lead by example"

Always keep a pulse on your students, during the introductions see whole has children, aging parents, keep lines of communication open. Always refer to IT help desk in every module with phone numbers, email links etc..  Make is harder for the attrition to find excuses/reasons to leave

Feedback I feel is the most important - start off with the positive and if correction is needed then foster it is such a way to build up and enncourage verses "you are wrong, with this response"

It is important to interact with your students on personal and professional level.  ALso what is expected of each Mod. and what is not allowed, restate school policies on netiquet.

Well organized, posted comments to keep students engaged, weekly updates on up and coming Mod. activities review dates of assignments. Continue to encourage students to reach out for questions concerns and reiterate where to address IT  issues.
