Comment on Jennifer Davis's post: I agree

The 5 C's was most interesting to me.

I agree with my colleagues. Don't assume you're always the smartest one in the classroom just because you're the instructor. Stay humble and lead by example.

You have to work at being a professional at all times.

Modelling is very important

Be a role model and treat students with respect. Bea on time, be prepared for class and dress professionally.

This module addressed several important ideas for teachers.  The "5 Cs", the different roles of the teacher, the notes on self-awareness, and the ideas of professionalism will all serve me well in my teaching capacity.

Model, Manage, and Motivate...keys to success. Modeling is professionalism, Manage is content organization and leading students, Motivate is encouraging the students and keeping them excited about their career choice.

I've learned that according to this lesson, I am right on track. Thank you

I've learned that instructors must fulfill three roles when it comes to teaching; model, manager, and motivator.

One takeaway for me is the importance of teachers being students by continually learning about their profession and themselves. A growing instructor must always seek to expand on their content knowledge by actively participating in professional workshops, attending seminars, and staying current with the literature in the field. Even so, growth as a successful instructor goes beyond mastering a solid base of content knowledge. The teacher needs to continue personal development in the area of delivering education to students. This could mean ongoing enrollment in courses in technologies that could more easily reach a generation of students stepped in the use of technologies in their everyday life. Teachers can also grow as they reflect on their craft. Reflection can be based on peer feedback, student evaluations, and personal journaling. In short, effective teachers are committed to being diligent students.

Very good instructional material.

Lead by example so your students see what professionalism looks like.

That instructors have many hats and make yourself clear.

Instructors are models, managers, and motivators. It is important to model and maintain professionalism.

Do not show your students how competent you may be in your field, instead show your love for your field. This stood out to me more than anything, mainly because I have always had this fear that a student may ask a question that will stump me someday. There is nothing to fear in that though, it is okay to not be the smartest in the room, in fact I learned that you most likely won't be as the professor said.

Personality is an important component of being a good instructor, show that you are enthused about the subject.

Model, manage, and motivate. Setting a good example, enforcing professionalism, and motiving students to do thie best are all great ways to ensure students are being trained correctly.

With our personal example, training and enthusiasm, we increase the interest of the students in achieving the objectives of the class

Lead by example in all areas. Be honest.
