i like the idea about posting a bio about myself and having my students do the same thing

I learned the importance of projecting a good presence in the class, maintaining authority and establising a relationship with learners.

I have learned that it is important to get to know all your students and your students get to know other classmates online.

Know the material before trying to delivery a class.

In the absence of the face-face interaction, it's important to make the students that they are cared for and that I am aware of what they do and their goals. The short bio about everyone, including the instructor, is very helpful.

I liked the section about posting your biography and commenting personally on the students' biographies as a way to begin building trust with each learner.

In this section I have learned that communication with the adult learner is very important and key to there learning experience. The instructor is the most important figure in the learning process for the adult learner.

I've learned the importance of reaching out to each student within the first week of class to make a connection with them.

The importance of letting students "see" educator qualifications; the use of biographies of both faculty & students alike to drive relational interactions.

I loved the biography part. I have been hesitant to list or share all my credentials, etc. in fear of being too boastful. But now I see that it validates my presence in the online learning environment.

Interact with your online students as much as possible

Instructors can show their expertise through distant learning by providing a biography of yourself. They can project authority through achievement, professional experience, and academic credentials.
