I've learned the importance of online presence and proper self presentation and self identification. Student must always feel seen and be able to reach out with any concerns but be able to follow set rules and directions.

It is very important to learn how to project the teacher's presence in front of their students, in a way that projects authority oriented towards respect, not intimidation, good presence, and good relationships with each student.

Projecting your presence is important so that a rapport can be built with the students. This will help to build confidence and trust with one another. It is also important to share expectations, boundaries, and set deadlines for course materials and discussions.

I learned how important it is to create a safe learning environment connection within students and instructor

Presenting a strong professional image to your students is essential. It helps them feel confident that you have the expertise and background needed to guide them through the course, support their learning, and help them develop the skills required to understand and apply the material effectively.

Presenting your professional self to your students is a must so they feel confident that you have the experience and educational background to teach them the class objectives and assist them with learning the course objectives and skills needed to learn and apply the knowledge acquired.

It is important for an instructor to project their authority and credibility in distance learning just as it is inside a traditional classroom setting. It is equally important that students know who their instructor is as well as other students and important for an instructor to know each student on a personal level to enhance the online learning environment.

The instructor support is important for student success as much as the learners interest in learning more.

While I have always begun class with an introductory video of myself, I usually choose a discussion thread for students. Now I am considering a video thread for students who can respond in writing to one another or by video.

I would make myself available for questions, present the material in a confident manner, and ensure all material is accurate

I think it makes a big impact to make personal contact with each student, in a non-threatening way, at the beginning of the course. Maybe send a personalized email or welcome message.

I learned a bunch of new ways to connect early with students before classes even start

Excellent way to connect with students and share relevant information about each other.

Absolutely staying on top of how the students are progressing and interact early in the educational process.

That is good to share with the students a short biography and photo and request the same of the students.

To let the students know what you already know with your education and experience. We can share our hobbies as well which will have students asking questions that will lead to discussions and gain their trust to build an instructor/student relationship.

Getting to know each other and providing a professional biography for the instructor can help project authority and confidence from the students.

In this module, I truly appreciated the attention given to how we get to know our students and let them know we have their backs as their instructors. By asking them to create a biography instead of only producing one ourselves, we demonstrate a desire to see them as more than faceless, nameless students online. And by emphasizing our academic and career qualifications before hobbies and fun facts, we also demonstrate our fitness to support them academically.

I do class introductions during the first c;lass. I could have them post them as well.

It is essential to project my presence online to establish trust and foster engagement. I will apply this by sending individualized messages, engaging in forum discussions, and encouraging my students to do video introductions, if possible.
