Having the instructor's experiences as a student in the bio. Instructor listing jobs they took as a student and some trials they overcame to become an instructor.
Take the time to get to know your students
I like to highlight my professional experience through examples throughout the lectures and their learning and draw on theirs so they don't think I'm taking a superiority approach to their experiences.
I concur that fostering healthy peer and individual connections have been crucial to creating courses that are effective.
We will give students the opportunity to submit brief bios, employment histories, and expectations in order to foster positive interactions with our students. We will also add a feature to the CMS that will allow for asynchronous discussions on subjects unrelated to the course. Great suggestions!
I learned that I should review each student's biography to understand their background.
It is very important to get to know who your students are, what they are about, where they come from, where they are planning to go, etc. The instructor should take the time to get to know their students in-depth or as much as the student would like to share. The instructor should also post information about themselves in an effort to let the students get to know you as a real person with real interests or even common interests. I have been in education for 18 years. Creating relationships with students makes it easier for the students and the instructor to communicate and ensure success not only in the courses but also creates professional connections.
Creating a team-work environment where I, as the instructor, am able to lead the team to success is very important in the learning process and can be achieved using the methods discussed in the last section.
Trust can be built through transparency, respect, and the commitement to achieve a common goal.
I learned that it is important to connect with my students and establish a rapport.
After reviewing this portion of the course. I will definitely send more individual messages and update my students on their progress and acknowledge their hard work and engagements.
I learned it is important to get to know your students and let them know you so as to have a relationship of trust to be able to build on to teach the information needed.
This is where you inttroduce yourself in two ways as the instructor with your credentials so the students will respect you and know that you are there to teach them what they need to know. Then give them some information as such what your hobbies are or other simple information about yourself that helps open a line of communication. It is important that the students know that you are there to teach them but you are approachable if they need to ask questions.
While therea re differences in synchronus and asynchronous learning the goal ar the same to provide an welcoming, safe and engaging learning enveronment. This requires the instructor to initiate, lead and monitor classroom discussions and engaged those learners that may ntot be necessarily participating in a meaningful way.
Push to be a leader by experience, credentials, and training
Utilizing the same methods that you utlize on ground courses but on a Onlne formate. Get the students confident in your ablitity, in your trust, and caring about their future studies.
Students feel more connected when you post a brief bio of who you are and your credentials.

I really enjoyed the suggestions about posting summaries of the students' discussion posts for the week - this is something I have not tried that I may need to implement in my course.
I have always sent my bio to students, but never once asked them to write one back. This could be a great way to get to learn more about students and create a bond.
To inform them of my experience and credentials and to learn who they are.
The one-on-one relationships that you have with your students, and the trust, respect, and consideration that you show towards them during every instructional session comprise the core of an energized classroom -- one geared toward promoting an enriched, meaningful, and dynamic learning experience.
I like the idea of the personalized email at the end of the first week which includes info from their individuals bios
