I have learned that the students in class can help to enrich the material and using their experiences and maybe the way they understand the material may help others learn and be engaged.

I learned the benefit of setting limits for communication. I have always been so open that I am usually very overloaded with student communications. I really like the idea of a 24-hour turn around time for my responses.

I have always struggled to get student participation in the discussion boards. This really gave me some ideas about how to keep the conversation going. I can't wait to apply it in the class.

I learned that through your biography, a student can become more comfortable with you if they see you share common interests. I also learned that your presence is better felt when the student knows your achievements. They are confident that you know what you are talking about and trust your judgement.

Navigation of the course is extremely important. You will need to know all the requirements and resource materials in the course and how to navigate. If a student cannot find something or needs additional help, you need to be able to direct them to the correct resource or assignment.

I will make sure to familiarize myself with everything in the course as well as do the assignment myself as the instructor. This will make sure I can answer any questions and direct my students to the correct material.
