When considering students as customers, the approach is different than in other areas like retail for example.
Students should not be viewed as typical business customers, as the primary aim is to educate and create lifelong learning for students.
Students are truly our customers. We must treat our students with respect.
Technology students do not like to be thought of as customers. They need to be handled as learners, students who are there to acquire new skills and knowledge.
Seeing students as customers prevents the instructor from treating students like children.
Good customer service goes a long way in student satisfaction.
having the opportunity to speak with the students and have common understanding and professional respect for one and other. we are giving there the knowledge to flourish, be we are also teaching them what we are expecting from them industry wide still remaining to have understanding and empathy.
The purpose of viewing a student as an instructor is to make sure that they receive the services expected. Just like all or any other paying customer. If they are a struggling student, they also pay for creativity from instructors to be available for office or after class hours to assist students with difficult concepts.
Always focus on the principal objective which is educating the students.

Educators should focus on teaching content in a variety of delivery ways and educate students of all ages. We shouldn’t have to look at them as customers paying for services.. I was put in this position as a nursing instructor. The student hadn’t paid for their course completely. They wanted me not to give grades out till they received payment from the student. Not a position to be in.
I've learned and agreed that educational institutions should focus on the principal objective which is educating students.
I will Listen attentively to my students like they are customers. I will always treat students fairly and equal and communicate in the my students style.
I disagree with the sentiment that students should be treated as customers. Especially in the younger adult learning environment, my experience is this shifts the focus from education to profit. Focusing on the quality of the education or the course as a whole will return positive reviews, and make students more likely to recommend the course to others.
There are valid criticisms of the phrase "students as customers". One must remember that this category is different from a business customer. We provide a service, but the students are more than a financial transaction.
Students as customers, and Instructors as the Product Providers might seem shallow through an economic lens, but it is exactly that. It is our responsibility as instructors to take that lens and make it as personable as possible. We transform the simple economic transaction into something fruitful that can potentially change student futures.
Customer in teaching institution is the one who benefits in the service rendendered which is the knowledge. Student is remained it to be tested whether the knowledge is picked up and retained as it the goal of teaching .
It is interesting to view the dynamics of instructors as entertainers if it is in the business perspective, but the objective is to teach and educate so that students can learn applicable skills in their profession.
