Using an assessment tool is a 50-50 in students eyes. If used effectively it can bring desired results.

Be descriptive in the objective to match the final exam expectations to help students grasp specific content to pass. Use resources that are available and that already do this, such as learning objectives mentioned at the beginning of a chapter, that references what students are supposed to study.

Find a teaching style that works best for you and you cannot improve what you do not measure. Documenting helps give us an idea of what helped and what didn't.

From the module I learned about timing and evaluation. If you have a long class, take a few moments to take attendance. A shorter class, you might want to get right to it (teaching). For eval, you can grasp where students are in certain topics before starting the course. You can also create worksheets to grasp their knowledge at the topic.

Listening is difficult especially when you have a goal of trying to get a point across. Particularly when you know the other person is wrong.

This might sound insane, but review the conversation you just had. Practice makes perfect and it’s going to help to write down everything, to not only let it go (mentally or emotionally for your health), but to practice.

We’re human and the goal isn’t to be perfect in the moment. It’s to make sure both parties leave in at least a mutual understanding, especially in conflict.

The purpose of viewing a student as an instructor is to make sure that they receive the services expected. Just like all or any other paying customer. If they are a struggling student, they also pay for creativity from instructors to be available for office or after class hours to assist students with difficult concepts.

Comment on Jose Rivera's post: I agree, sometimes for the beginning lectures I show students how to use their e-book. Features like highlighting or dictating in their Word docs notes can be confusing for young and adult learners. Regardless, we treat each student equally.

I like the paper airplane idea.

Especially in the medical field, you need to learnt to take direction.

Incredible, thank you!

Help students have a resource they can use at home that correlates with their learning.
