Storytelling in the classroom should be real life examples, can contain humor and should be inclusive, not exclusive.

I think storytelling is important for teachers to relate to students but I agree that too many personal details is not a good idea,

Storytelling helps relax students, helps them to feel included and brings relevance to the topic.

Due to my experience as a veterinary technician I am able to pull from many times that lesson material was applicable to our career.

A lot of students express being anxious about their externships and looking like they do not know anything. I tell them they are there to learn and to ask lots of questions. I like what the course said about seeing things as growth opportunities instead of threats or anxiety causing situations.

I think it is crazy that we have 60,000 thoughts a day! No wonder we need to take a break sometimes.

I think it is good to offer ways for students to learn to deal with stress. The goals and schedules of assignments helps them to prepare for their careers which are also stressful.

I have not heard of progressive muscle relaxing but it makes sense. I think it might be helpful for students with anxiety before tests.

I learned that the most effective type of  lesson would involve already having a visible component or physical structure to represent. Blood cells in a blood vessel floating around, for example. I would like to make one where they encounter the different cells as they travel through the vessel and they can interact with them and learn about them.

I don't feel I can apply it at this time in our curriculum however I feel it is important to grasp the concepts as they begin to become more and more common in industry use.
