i learned how to understand student perspective, how to use life experiences to help understand circumstances that a student may be in..

I have learned to pay attention to all the students, and if i see one falling behind, Find out what is going on and try to send them to the department that will be able to help them , so they can stay focased on finishing their education.

As a result of completing this module, I feel more equipped with regards to how I can accentuate the significance of having students both share and incorporate their unique experiences and histories into their work.

Understanding each student's perspective helps to best educate them.

Communication and understanding is key. Knowing more about background and learning styles is something I'm working on.

Students of all ages have different from each other. They have their own personal problems and fears. Its up to the instructor to reconize their wants and needs

Good reading material and I like the career exploration part. I believe we really need to assess the classroom and adapt our teaching style to the needs of the students. Just last semester I had students in class in a range of 18-56 years old. One of the students never used a computer before. So I had to create groups and assigned more advanced students to help students that struggled with technology.

What I take from this course will help me to relate to diverse students with different backgrounds and life experiences.  I will be able to Identify the students needs, help students with impersonal problems, and be a support system for students.

help me to understand students better and from that how that student needs the information to be presented so they can retain the info

Every student that walks into class is carrying so much into that room. ... unique experiences, worries, doubts, wit, perspective.  It is so important to remember that when I am working to motivate, encourage and draw out the best from them!

Every new class I start I will introduce myself and have them go around and do the same. I learn all about them as a person and there goals. I also like to meet with students one on one to just talk and see why they joined the course and talk more on a personal level so they know i am here to support them.

Student needs both in and outside the classroom must be heard, even if I cannot change the issue.

This course is helpful to handle all students needs. I learnt a new scenarios that are used to help students to be success in their studying program. It is important to understand student needs because it will assist in the retention process.

Discussing students goals are important because you can use this to encourage them to continue studying.

It is essential to know that Pause is lectures and demonstrations are needed for Understanding Checks. Also the External and Internal Support Systems for a Student in this course was helpful .

I found the information helpful because it really breaks down the diversity of students and all the different ways to approach the situations each and every student is going through.

I have learned that each student is different in their perceptions of education, needs, and abilities. As an instructor I need to be able to connect with each of them in order to know what kind of support they will require to help them be prepared and motivated for the course of study. Understanding the kind of support the student's need will help them to be successful and anticipate what the degree program and the professional field will expect of them.

I have learned that the students in class can help to enrich the material and using their experiences and maybe the way they understand the material may help others learn and be engaged.

Major takeaways: See the environment form the student's perspective. Be aware of students' maturity levels and adjust accordingly.

As instructors of adult learners we must be fully prepared and ready to provide for the instructional needs of people in various age ranges, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds and/or disabilities.  This is why it is essential for us to learn about and understand our students and their motivations.
