Activity

I learned that showing that you are enthusiastic and care about what you are teaching, it affects the students in a positive way because once they see how much you care about the subject or lesson, they're more likely to engage.

I learned that learning different ways to have students engage in the lesson plan is important. Variety is important so students don't feel so stagnant or burnt out.

I learned we must be enthusiastic about what we are teaching. If we're not excited, then why should our students be motivated? Being creative in teaching and grasping the attention of our student is important so they are excited and motivated for the career they are working towards.

I learned that using real life situations and making things more relatable will gain advantage in the attention and engagement of students and will therefore provide student retention in the classes. Having different backgrounds gives an opportunity to get to know our students better and getting them to know us as instructors so we can create a boundary of respect.

Prepare lesson plans that have different learning styles. Having a variety of learning styles will be beneficial to not one but most students. We want students to be engaged and have their full attention and with a combination of 15 min lectures and hands on lesson plans.

Being relatable to your students will always be a plus in the classroom. I believe have open discussion relieves nervousness and anxiety in the classroom.

Preparedness before and during the course is important. Objectives are important for students to get informed of what is to come and prepare. It's also important for teacher/student expectations.

As a leader, always lead by example and be the support system to your students. Be their motivation. And although you are a leader, there is always room for growth as a teacher.
