Learning Activities | Origin: ED107

This is a general discussion forum for the following learning topic:

Creating an Accelerated Learning Environment --> Learning Activities

Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.

Students should know the purpose of the game you are using and what they get in regards to benefits. If it is not a good fit, do not use it!

I learned the importance of changing things up in the classroom, such as breaking up the lecture with activities interspersed to improve learning and retention.

Having more questions than you think is necessary will help you during debriefing.

Debriefing is very important, it allows the learner to go back over what they have learned and figure it out in their own head in their own voice. And present it in a way that makes sense in their head.

I've learned the importance of debriefing. Also simulations and games are a great way to keep the class motivated.

Debriefing is the thing i got from this.

Different methods work for different people.

I like the idea of providing simulations that can align with real world situations the students may encounter.

simulations seem to be the best way to retain knowledge. hands on experience is the best form of practice. debriefings at the end can also help with the retention of said simulations

From this module, I gained a deeper understanding of the critical role debriefing plays in the learning process. I plan to be more intentional about providing students with time to reflect on their work and articulate their thinking before offering my own assessment. This approach will not only promote metacognition but also empower students to take greater ownership of their learning.

Alot of good context in this module, from the ABCD's of learning to how important it is to debrief the students.

best tool is a simulation in which students can practice their knowledge in a real world setting.

Course learning objectives should be evaluated for each class. Simulation is the most effective tool for learning.

Simulation is the most effective way of teaching students. Using activities in the classroom is ineffective if the activities are not relevant to the learning the class is required to retain.

debriefing is the best way to retain knowledge from the lesson.

Simulation is the best way to learn, simply because the closer the experience is to the real world, the easier it is to transfer the learning.

Simulations are great learning activities for all different types of learners

Games and simulations are a large part of the learning experience

simulations are great. need a lot of preparation
