Student self-advocacy is talking with instructors and letting them know the nature of the disability and how it impacts their learning. 

Develop assignments that require a fair division of labor. One of the main reasons that student groups fail is that some individuals feel that not everyone is doing their fair share of the work.

Instruction is much like cooking. You have to follow a recipe to ensure that you don't leave out any of the critical ingredients.

A common mistake that new instructors make is to create a point scale that includes points for extra credit, which means in reality that in order for the students to earn the maximum points they really have to earn the extra points to stay within the point category of the grade they are aiming for. 

As the class manager you need to have a plan B available at all times. 

Use no more than 10 slides for 20 minutes with a font at no less than 30 points. This rule will help your PowerPoint presentations to be effective and well received by your students.

Being enthusiastic about your job shows your students how much you value your profession and your achievements.

When teaching adults, class management means that you are prepared, organized, and dedicated to sharing your expertise and knowledge of the field. 

Paying such close attention to your students will also enable you to recognize emerging problems.

Many times students will withdraw from participating if they can't see a reason for learning the information being presented.
