Learning to pace one's self is important in the delivery of your lesson plan. I would like to focus on that aspect to make sure I don't run over or under the class time. I plan to allow enough "breathing room" in the lesson for students to ask questions prior to moving forward. By doing this I will have a way to double check that the students are understanding the lesson without leaving anyone behind.

The introduction to yourself, the course and student introductions sets the tone for the entire year. Procedures and expectations must be laid out in the beggining to set the foundation for how the rest of the year will play out.

Always have a notepad handy to write things down will help keep a clear mind. By using the notepad to keep track of your personal to-do's your mind is free to focus on what is happening in the moment rather then tasked with remembering what you need to do later.

Teaching not only takes place in the classroom but outside of it. If we are able to motivate the students to learn outside of the classroom on their own I would consider this a huge success.
