Syllabi can be a tool for both students and teachers - when created properly

As a new instructor, I've never developed a syllabus, I now have instructions.  I am always early to work.  It makes me feel ready for class.

Poor Planning leads to Poor Performance. I have learned that being prepared for the class and even having wiggle room for the unexpected things that may arise will be beneficial to the success of the class and myself as a growing instructor.

I’ve come to understand how vital it is to be thoroughly ready before teaching a class. Doing so strengthens my self-assurance, demonstrates my capability to students, and helps me stay focused on the required material within the time available.

I have learned the importance of being prepared for instructing a class. It boosts my confidence, highlights my competence to my learners, and ensures I remain within the expected areas to cover in the allotted time.

I have learned that planning ahead is the key to getting things going and situated. It not only helps you but also helps your students to learn better and respect and understand you better

This course emphasized on the importance of being prepared and on time.

This course has reminded me on the importance of having clear objectives and detailed syllabus.

Knowing your students by name and being able to pronounce their names correctly is a good way to connect with the class! The video was pretty informative too!

It is very important that the syllabus of the course is clear, concise and accurate so that students can confidently refer to it for information regarding the course.

I really like the idea of using a checklist to help remember everything that I need to do or cover. A syllabus is also helpful in making sure everything is covered, but I feel like the checklist is more personal to what I specifically need to remember.

Being prepared and coming in early will show the students that you care.

I hope to give the students a little piece of myself as a nurse that they can bring along to their patients for the future.

Keeping a check list of subjects and material to be covered may help the new teacher feel more comfortable that they have not forgotten any important information.

Early and thorough planning, using a checklist to ensure preparedness, keeping notes of needs that arise all help new instructors reduce nervousness and stress by keeping the focus on the students and the class.

When instructors take time to organize lessons, set clear goals, and prepare materials ahead of time, students are better able to understand and stay engaged.

Being prepared and organized helps to create a conducive learning environment.

Syllabus is an extremely important resource for instructors and students.  Guides both parties and sets goals.

Preparation is key and knowing every student's name

Planning and preparation are important steps for you and your students. Having a clear roadmap is one of the keys to success. Having a checklist helps to ensure that you aren't missing anything. Keeping a notepad handy for follow up items is a simple way to not miss things important to the students.

I have learned that as an instructor, I should lay out the objectives for the day so that the students know what is expected of them. Audience, behavior, condition, and degree must all be taken into account when creating objectives.
