Having a road map will help to keep both the instructor and the students on track

It is important to develop a checklist prior to first day of a new student cohort

Having a syllabus provides an guideline for the course and also lays out the expectations from the beginning. It can be used as a reference for the students so there is no confusion as to what the objectives of the course are or what they are expected to complete.

Preparation for each class is very important. having a syllabus and lesson plan is a must to keep  organized and on task.

Teaching is so much more than just showing up for class. There is a lot that needs to be done before a successful class is taught: syllabus, objectives, lesson plan, etc.

I learned the importance of setting goals for yourself while teaching and that they're  different ways of getting from one point to another.

The key is to get to your destination the quickest, safest, and most direct way. That is what a goal is like. When writing course goals use the road map example to make them clear and direct.

Also why a syllabus is so important to students as an operating manual for the course and answers many of their questions. It helps them understand expectations and outcomes in a clear way and also by creating a checklist it helps throughout the teaching course to avoid forgetting important and critical items during the day and throughout the course.

Be prepared prior to class and arrive early. It helps settle the nerves and makes you look professional and prepared.

As an instructor you should always have lesson plans ready to go to include supplies and lab set up.

Advanced planning and preparation enhance the learning experience, and respectful and interpersonal exchange makes for more interactive and more relatable discussion.  Making sure that the instructor is prepared also avoids distraction and confusion and ensures that the subject matter is presented completely.  Tools to ensure a comprehensive classroom environment includes checklists and instructor note taking.

Always be prepared, have everything you need.

Teaching is a multi-faceted and complex. Preparation, organization, presence, and flexibility are crucial. Prepare, prepare, prepare!

It is helpful to arrive early to class to warm up a bit. Greet students, make sure you can pronounce names correctly, and talk about any topic. That way you can be relaxed when you start on time.

I learned how important it is to be prepared for all instances that may arise in the classroom as well as how important it is to prepare a thorough syllabus to help guide not only the classroom but also the student.

Teaching isn’t a one-person show—it’s a shared symphony that demands preparation, professionalism, empathy, and above all, collaboration. As facilitators, we’re the living example of what we aspire our students to become.

Planning, preparation ,professionalism and punctuality will enhance the process as well as show your students how to prepare for their future in healthcare.

Successful instruction and learning leads with a plan to accomplish goals. Learning objective set a plan in motion.

Arriving on time, better yet planning and getting in early to prepare for students to arrival is a vital part of the course. Ensure going over the syllabus/ guidelines sets the tone for your students and class which will help with strategic planning and structure. Setting goals and the objective will also help with in depth learning and structure of the course.

I learned that it is good practice to have a checklist to avoid forgetting a topic you planned on going over in class.

I learned that always being on time and being prompt is very important. Students will value you and your knowledge when the outside appearance is on point.
