Having a syllabus provides an guideline for the course and also lays out the expectations from the beginning. It can be used as a reference for the students so there is no confusion as to what the objectives of the course are or what they are expected to complete.

I learned that in order for my students to achieve the objectives of the class, I need to be the model for them. I need to be the example they need to follow in order to be successful.
