I always knew having your name and course name up on the screen when students arrive was important but I never thought about how it makes them feel especially when they are new. Putting them at ease first thing can create a positive and low stress environment.

Teaching is so much more than just showing up for class. There is a lot that needs to be done before a successful class is taught: syllabus, objectives, lesson plan, etc.

I learned being prepared, professional, accountable and reflective are necessary approaches for a growing instructor. Also considering other factors such as school teaching styles, colleague styles, etc are important for forming a well-rounded educational setting.
