I understand that a more indept formative and summative assssement is needed. Both assessements are importantly equal for the course and assessments are dependent on the semester as well. Also, creating detailed rubrics will help students get feedback and improve learning. It will also save time for grading. The rubric also need to be connected with the learning objective.

When the feedback is connected to the learning objectives and meaningful feedback is provided to the students, learning is improved.

I did learn that rubrics allow instructors to target specific tasks in an assignment or project, and this helps with assessing learning.  Student performance can be assessed as well.  As an instructor, I can review the assignment to ensure all requirements are met, and if not, edit it before handing out to students.

Assessments, both formative and summative, with detailed rubrics and various methods of feedback provide students with tools to improve their learning, correct mistakes, and increase their knowledge and skills.

The value of  accurately and specifically detailing grading rubrics to measure learning and assist the learner in focussing on the outcomes to be measured is crucial. This a win-win strategy that helps both Instructor and Student to learn together and evaluate as well.

Meaningful feedback will improve student learning.  Rubrics with specific objectives will give a clear understanding of what is to be exspected.

Objectives Clear.

Criteria Clear.

Assessment Fair because it's based on the Rubric with the clear Obectives and Criteria.

I learned that rubrics are helpful in the students understanding of the objectives. I also learned that rubrics are helpful in the grading process.

Rubrics are something that I will utilize more often. I had a way of grading items, and was always consistent, but rubrics are helpful so that everyone is on the same page and there is no room for a lot of bias.

I have been reminded of other types of feedback: self and peer assessments which are just as important for evaluating learning improvement.

Being consistent with feedback, and utilizing rubrics for assessments when necessary are important.

Providing feedback to a student helps them learn. Feedback needs to be specific to that student and not just a generic comment. I learned the importantce of a rubric and how important the objective and criteria are to help a student produce a good assignment/project. I plan to use the self-assessment and peer-assessment rubrics in order to help students turn in better work.

A thought that I had during this lesson was the relationship between the teacher and students that I learned in the earlier class.  This relationship will go hand in hand with providing meaningful feedback.  It is such a delicate way that things must be addressed in the online relem.  If you respond a certain way the student may not like how you answered them and give up or complain that you did not want to give help.  I see that it is so easy to mess up and I must be strong with this aspect when teaching online.

I learned that assessment both formative and summative is a vehicle to improve learning and teaching. Balancing both formative and summative assessment in your course provides your students and you with the information about the learning that is occuring.

The crucial thing of assessments is making sure there is a purpose behind it.  It's not just about spitting back information, but it's about showing mastery of the learning.

Rubrics is something that I still have to work on and get comfortable with. As for students giving me feedback during course evaluations. This helps me learn and change the way I teach to make me a better instructor.

I will be sure to use rubrics correctly, and give student feedback in such a way that it provides more learning for the student.

Formative and summative assessmen are different, but important components of the learning process and should be created in a variety of ways.

Students have to be given direction.  A rubric just sets it all out there for them.  The teacher, of course, is there to provide direction also as the facilitator.  Feedback is so important.  The students need this to give them direction.

Feedback and a clear understandable rubric lead to student success
