Reinforce collaborative relationship tone is improtant to keep a goo line of communication open with a online student.

Technology is here to stay, 2/3 of students have it and can not live without it.

As an instructor in F2F class, you can look for clues to see if students are falling behind.  With online instruction, given a interesting atmostphere to learn-engaging with your students-a instructor can succeed. Stating all students are immature for online courses is a out of touch instructor.

Sometimes students do not know where to go for help on campus, or that there is such a thing.  Students go from 12th grade- told how to do so much , where to go that I believe they can not critically think for themselves and when help is offered, they may not even know what to do with it.

Critical thinking is powerful tool for problem sloving. This will help students later in their careers.

A recent forced transition has led me to teach online. In my field- more is F2F online and students tend to hide behind a picture of themselves rather than engage. Inerestingly after one student took it down the rest followed and now we are all engaging.

Active Learning can be done within an online course, it may take longer to plan. Online access for students should be available any hour.

There are good resourses for preparing for a online class.  I did not know there was way to check color for someone who has colorblindness.

When teaching online, LMS sometimes CC can be problematic. I have learned that most LMS need an continuous updating for better access.

In 1990 President Bush amended the ADA.  Online instructing often cannot identify these disabilities, hoping more students find the center on campus that can help them with any educational disabilities.  Bridging the gap.
