Using technology the right way can make learning smoother and give students more ways to understand the material, whether it’s through videos, interactive tools, or simple apps that keep them on track.
Students must have a clear expectation of what is expected of them. We must allow technology in our classroom for our students to be successful.
Leveraging technology for student success means using digital tools intentionally to support learning, engagement, and accessibility, not just for convenience. When aligned with clear objectives, technology can enhance collaboration, provide timely feedback, support differentiation, and help students take ownership of their learning. I intend to apply this by choosing tools that directly support instruction, improve efficiency, and create more meaningful learning experiences rather than using technology for its own sake.
As students use more technology, adapting to it is important. Used correctly, technology can support their learning goals. It also allows students to engage more actively with content, collaborate with peers, and access resources that support diverse learning needs.
Expectations set standards for students to be able to succeed.
Students learning styles and preferences are impacted by the period in which they grew up. Net Generation students differ from Baby Boomers and Generation X students in a number of ways and these differences requires teachers to consider ways to effectively reach the new learners.
The expectations should be made clear to the students, through samples of acceptable work. The students need to know what is expected of them, as well as how their work will be graded.

Being adaptable with technology use can enhance student learning and overall experience in the course
It is important to change up how you teach to touch on different learning styles.
Digital technology can be an effective method of engaging students both during class and outside of class.
Give students choices in how they are assessed, Using a "flipped classroom" by providing power points or other materials to the students is an interesting concept that I look forward to utilizing.
I like the idea of the "flipped" classroom. This could be an interesting concept for a CTE classroom. I would like to explore this idea more and incorporate it into my class. Understanding the "Net" Generation is also crucial. Just because these students have grown up with technology doesn't always mean that they are super tech savvy. Finding the right blend of traditional and technology is important.
Teaching styles need to be adjusted to the students' preferences. Giving the students a voice will keep them motivated.
You should give your students options while learning that way they feel like they have ownership of their learning. Technology is a useful tool for in the classroom for the students to use.
Providing choices allow the students to feel of sense of control changing the mind frame from I have to, to I want to.
The flipped classroom is a great idea. It meshes well with the concept of beginning with an activity rather than a lecture.
Engaging students through technology offers benefits like personalized learning, improved collaboration, and access to vast resources.
Technology can tailor lessons to different learning styles, make learning more interactive, and better prepare students for a technologically-driven workforce.
Pros of using technology:
· Personalized and tailored learning experiences to match individual student needs and pace, supporting different learning styles.
· Enhanced engagement and motivation:
· Improved facilitation and collaboration among students, performing projects and assignments more effectively.
· Access to resources:
· Preparation for future careers:
Downsides include increased distractions, potential for over-reliance and cheating, and widening the digital divide. It also presents challenges such as screen-related health issues and technical difficulties.
Cons of using technology:
Distractions: Devices provide easy access to non-educational content.
Over-reliance and potential for laziness:
Widening the digital divide:
Reduced face-to-face interaction:
Health concerns: An increase in screen time can contribute to health problems such as eye strain, sleep issues, and sedentary behavior.
Potential for cheating:
Flipping the classroom promotes student accountability and responsibility for learning which in turn allows more time in class for analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
