Course outcomes are the driver of the lesson plan. As a new teacher taking the time to analyze how well a lesson worked and making notes and adjustments to improve lesson planning skills.

Objectives should be expressed as outcomes so students know what they have to accomplish.

Document and stay current with your lesson plans. Thoughtful planning leads to better results and more student engagement.

Make sure you have enough content to fill the time you have. Have extra work ready in case a lesson takes less time than you expect.

Keep grades up to date weekly to keep students informed and engaged, Make your grading policy clear, balanced and most of all fair.

Having the understanding that students sometimes lack the background knowledge to understand the coursework is vital. Learn your audience so you can adjust your instruction.

Power points need to be brief with large print. PP presentations need to capture the audience's attention with colors and highlights and animations.

Do your best to be early and prepared to set an inspirational tone.

Ask questions with specific learning goals in mind. Never try to "stump" a student.

Design thoughtful assessments that are goal oriented.

It never occured to me to plan out the questions students should be asking me. I will work to anticipate the questions to achieve better comprehension of my lessons.
