This module emphasized the importance of understanding and addressing different learning styles—Auditory, Written, Visual, and Kinesthetic—in the classroom. It highlighted that students have unique preferences for how they learn, and as an instructor, it’s crucial to vary teaching methods to engage all learners. By incorporating diverse strategies, such as discussions, visual aids, hands-on activities, and reading materials, teachers can support students with different learning needs. Additionally, it’s important to encourage students to develop skills in other learning styles, preparing them for future success. I plan to apply this by diversifying my teaching methods and assessing students' learning preferences to enhance their learning experience.
Understanding the student learning styles can be grouped to incorporate more students in the class. Teachers can engage more students with multiple techniques instead of straight lectures. Hand on learners( Kinesthetic) will do better when they touch and learn through conducting experiment. Auditory learners grasp lectures easier. It is important as an instructor that you do not just incorporate your own learning style and use multiple techniques.
It is essential to consider different learning styles when teaching to enhance information retention and ultimately set student's up for a successful learning environment by incorporating as many learning styles as possible while teaching. Working in groups is also beneficial as students learn from each other and will get to experience and try their classmate's learning style.
I found it interesting that students can score 10-15% higher on assessments when they are presented in the student's dominant learning style.
I like the idea of using groups of students with different learning styles. This allows students to work with their preferred learning style while learning from others with different learning styles.
Taking into consideration the different learning styles will help each and every student learn much more effectively.
By understanding that all students learn differently, trying different methods to deliver the information you can see what benefits your class the most.
There is deferent learning style and different ways to teach even tho students will be able to help each other by learn from each other
By combining more than one learning style at once you will reach the largest number of students. If you can combine all of the styles you have a homerun.
By considering a variety of learning styles and presenting the material to meet all the different ways to learn, you have a better chance of the students retaining the information.
Implementing a variety of learning styles for students will be necessary to reach as many students as possible.
Different learning styles will benefit students who have different ways of learning and each student will learn and gain according to how they grasp the stuff being taught.
I learned that by focusing on the students preferred learning style, they can achieve a 10-15% academic improvement. However, the student must also grasp knowledge without using their preferred learning style, like they would in a real-life situation at the workplace. Creating a lesson plan that considers all the various learning styles that your students may use, provides more opportunities for overall learning.
I learned about using interdisciplinary teams in engagement in teaching.
Its good to know different types of teaching so will have good idea of what do the student like the way of learning in this case i will be sure that every student got the same standard of learning,
It would be helpful to know the class of students' learning styles to adapt and adjust my presentation to maximize the learning.
I appreciated the reminder that with whatever style I may be using at the time, I am only reaching 50-60% of the class. This will motivate me to incorporate other styles of learning.
knowing the different styles of learning that your students have can help you with a better approach in your teachings.
It's important to tailor our teaching to meet various learning styles.
I intend to incorporate more of the group approach and having the students working in teams. This will enable them to learn from each other and discover the strengths and weaknesses within themselves and others relative to the teaching method.
With all the learning styles, and the knowledge of those styles, one can customize a lecture or class to fit so that all participants can be engaged in the material and in the discussion that hopefully arises, to move the course and subject matter forward more naturally.
