Ive learned that there are a number of different learning styles and it is important to preset the material in a number of different ways in order to reach all students and their learning demands.
I learned to teach in a variety of ways.
I learned that people have different learning styles and that using strategies that match those styles can improve understanding and retention. I, also, learned that learning assessments are important because they help measure progress and identify areas of improvements. I plan to apply the knowledge by using study techniques that match preferred learning styles in hopes that each student can learn individually and benefit from group work and see how others study can assist in achieving better results.
As an instructor, it's best to integrate different teaching styles to promote learning for all students.

I used to use learning styles assessments in the past, but I did not make a concentrated effort to utilize the results to inform my teaching style. This reminded me of the value of keeping those styles in mind as a plan. I also appreciated that it was mentioned that students must develop skills to use outside of their preferred method.
There are four basic learning styles - auditory, visual, kinesthetic, and written. While everyone has their preferred learning style, most people can learn through other styles. The classroom lecture is ideal for auditory learners; visual learners find PowerPoint presentations beneficial; taking notes is helpful for those who need to write things down; and kinesthetic learners learn through doing. Since there are likely to be students who favor multiple learning styles in any given class, it is important to change up the teaching methods in order to reach all of your students. For example, use lecture with PowerPoint, use hands on teaching whenever possible, and have students help teach each other in small groups.
Understanding learning styles match teaching to student strengths. In a hands on clinical, clinical setting, introduction learning styles during orientation can better support diverse learners success.
