The instructor is a model of expected behavior.  It is important for the instructor to use proper professional language, be polite and courteous, as well as dressed appropriately, prompt and ready for the class on time.  I plan to apply this in my own classroom.

Great introduction into what I hope is a wonderful start to a beautiful career. I learned how important professional development is and how to learn to develop it over time.

I learned that not only is it important to be professional but it is also important to have a plan for development. You should always strive to improve your attitude and teaching style so the students can feel confident in the information that they are learning.

Creating a plan is such a good idea since it will allow me to be more specific in what I need to improve on as an instructor. Much better than a haphazard search for videos or non specific information.

I learned that it is more important to show the students that you are passionate about the subject and their success rather than trying to prove that you are the smartest person in the room.  I also learned that our actions and our choice of words are how we set the example of professionalism for our students to follow.

Professionalism is much more than just showing up to do your “job.” It’s the essence you exude to the people around you, especially in the field of education. How do your students perceive you? Regardless of your teaching manner or style, you should always remain, look, and speak like a professional.

I have learned that I should develop more of my own plan for development.  A plan can be fluid and change direction as I grow in my  teaching profession in the medical field.

Relationships are Key.  Developing as an educator is a process not a sprint and PD can reenergize one!

Being a new instructor in the trade/training education field, I have taken a lot of insight from this chapter, and I will apply these methods to develop myself and student's environment.

So far, this course has taught me that I should develop my own plan for development.  A plan can be fluid and change direction as I grow in my new teaching profession.

This taught me to make sure I increased my field knowledge and incorporated it back into my teaching styles to increase relevancy in the classroom.

The module was interesting and helpful to help one such as myself become a better instructor

Modeling, managing, and motivating are essential for student success. It is also important to create Professional Development Plans to stay on top of industry changes and maximize learning formats and outcomes.

This has caused me to look at my peers, how they present to the students, and how that correlates to class satisfaction.  There is a perfect blend between professionalism and personalization.

This course reminded me of the importance of being a model, motivator and manager. Showing preparedness and professionalism are key factors in an instructor's role.

An Instructor as a good model to his/her students in every way - coming to class prepared and ready, be on time if not early for class - are ways that students can see and aspire to be in their careers. Great read!

I appreciated the module and its insights into modeling, managing, and motivating students. It reinforced my belief in setting and maintaining high expectations for student professionalism. These expectations are first established through my own professional behavior as an instructor and program director. Students who consistently demonstrate a high level of professionalism, in addition to strong technical skills, could be better positioned to distinguish themselves from their peers when seeking employment.

I believe I present myself professionally; however, I also learn from my peers by observing how they conduct themselves, continue to grow professionally, and motivate students to follow their example. I strive to apply their successful practices to improve myself in all areas and aim to serve as a positive role model whose behavior students choose to emulate.

It is super important to have a professional appearance with your students but also remember to be fluid with your teaching style and plan to adapt to what your cohort needs.

Staying up to date on evidence based practices and researching will allow you to know the subject matter and be competent so your students can be motivated to learn as well.

I have been reminded of the importance of reading current literature on the subjects specific to my profession and integrate the information into lessons as applicable.
