Offering my expertise will motivate my students because they will see me as a skilled professional in nursing, who is willing to share my knowledge with them. In addition, they will see me as a model of a person in nursing. My modeling positive behavior, attitude, and actions will do much to keep my students excited about training to enter the nursing profession.

By using both cognitive (mind) and tactile (body) aspects in the learning process, retention of material is significantly increased due to the learner developing a working memory of the material.

Starting the class with some lighthearted moments allows the students to get settled into the class and helps me to get a feel for students that day.

I can meet most of the extrinsic needs of my students by going to the classroom before class starts and looking at the environment through the eyes of my students.

Variety in delivery helps to keep students interested and engaged in learning.

A pretest gives my students an idea of what will be covered in the course and how they are going to be assessed.

Using a checklist is the most helpful thing I can do to be stress-free during class.

I learned that most of the learning of my students occur outside of the classroom. I'm glad I was reminded of that as I try to get my students to learn as much as possible in class.
