Instructors should create a personal professional development plan to identify and build on their strengths, address areas for improvement, stay current in their field, ensure compliance with laws and institutional requirements, and continuously enhance their teaching effectiveness.

Developing as an instructor means continuously improving how we support student learning. Effective teaching strategies help create an environment where students feel engaged, confident, and motivated to participate.

I learned how important it is to a professional role model, manager, and motivator. This course is a great reminder that students are looking for teachers who care about them and inspire them to be an avid learner.

Being a professional instructor requires continued growth and awareness.  This is an excellent review of the expectations.

This course is a refresher course for me. However, it mentioned some important factors on modeling good behavior and professionalism. I believe arriving before class starts, and having things prepared before hand is very important to have a very productive day. Often times I include an agenda on the board so that students are aware of what's being covered in class that day.

Although I have only been teaching for about 3 years, this course has reiterated the importance of instruction and student learning abilities and how to bring them to fruition.

I've learned that most learning is done outside the classroom and that students just want to know that you care.

you can form a relationship without being friends, buddies etc.  this was very eye opening for me.

I learned that there are many facets to being an excellent instructor. It's important to be a Model, a Manager and a Motivator. The more that you prepare in advance the better.

I have learned that there are 3 major rolls an instructor plays. Model, manager, motivator. As a model, you have to show, not tell. As a manager, all aspects of the class must be student ready. As a motivator, you have to keep up the encouragement by reminding them how far they've come.

I have learned a lot, when it comes to being professional. I learned how to conduct a class and motivate students to learn.

ive learned about time management, being competent and remaining professional. all comes down to 3 important rolls MODEL, MANAGER, MOTIVATOR

I strongly agree that an instructor that is enthusiastic about teaching and interested in the course subject matter will be more effective in connecting with students and succeeding as an instructor. I plan on enrolling in online training courses and utilizing information databases to stay up to date on new industry trends and technology.

The big take away is that the most important part of a successful class is the preparation beforehand.  Being professional includes being prepared.

I learned that to be a great instructor you have to  show up early prepared and follow  all the professhional protocols. Making sure that all the teaching is student centered and treat them with respect. What I need to add is more professhional development course or training.

I learned in order to be successful as an instructor you have to be prepared before class begins.  You as an instructor need to be professional, so you are leading by example.

I learned that in order to be a great instructor I must fulfill all 3 roles well- model, manager, and motivator. I think it was important to learn that every teacher needs to develop their own approach to teaching whatever curriculum they are responsible for.

I learned that teaching strategies not only focus on theory/subject itself.  We need to consider that being a Model (attire, language, conduct etc.), Manager (Judge or Jury), Motivator plays a magnificent  role to make our students competent in learning.

I learned about how a professional development plan can help me become more proficient in my career as an instructor. Now I need to decide which resources to pursue.

So far, this section has made me feel very inadequate as an instructor. Its showing me, that I have a long way to go to as an instructor. Apparently, I haven't been doing half of what an instructor should be doing. I didn't realize that just being in this position, I'm setting an example for my students. I was unaware of the model I need to become, so that I can properly manage and motivate my students to be the best in their field.

It seems the best way to be an effective instructor is to act and be professional. A lot of professional behaviors are intuitive to me - dressing appropriately, being on time and prepared to teach, and respectfully addressing students without trying to become a "friend."

I will incorporate more of my enthusiasm for my subject area when teaching students, to really emphasize that I find biology fascinating!
