It is important to set an example and be a model instructor.
"Model, manage and motivate" Leading by example.!
There is always more to learn when teaching no matter year one or thirty! I appreciated how the course helps to show the balance of caring for your students while also keeping authority as the teacher (5 C's).
You need to prepare, continually develop, and learn from others. You need to become an expert in your area of teaching.
I have learned to continue to be professional, model, manage and encourage students.
There are always opportunities for growth and learning through introspection and personal development.
Past experience shapes us, but we must keep learning ourselves to be great instructors
The Professional Development planning was a big take away for me. I have a desire to learn and grow in my profession but have never actually mapped out a plan for it.
Love what you do, lead by example, and stay engaged with self-development.
Lead by a positive example, you are the model, manager and motivator for the students!
I learnt from the module the ways that I can follow to be a good leader inside the classroom. Also I learn that instructor always need to develop himself by attend developing course, discuss with peers, asking the supervisor and coworkers.
From watching this module, I few take-aways were the 5-C's - Credible, Candid, Compassionate, Committed and Clear. The difference between "friend" and 'pal" and not to be a pal with students, don't fall into the babysitter trap, and be the model of professionalism.
Professionalism is an aspect that communicates many things, but the most important is the way you treat and respect others and yourself.
To never stop learning about the subject being taught and to present and teach in better and more effective ways>
Being a role model by using the 5 C's and learning throughout.
Being an instructor has multiple roles under that umbrella. It is important to be a model for the students, to follow the "5-Cs" and to also be a motivator for your students. Learning can be an arduous task for some students, and it is important to show them the progress they have made thus far in their education and to give them to drive to continue.
The 5 “C’s” (credible, candid, compassionate, committed and clear). Always lead by example, be on time, prepared, and maintain a professional environment.
Respecting the students time is the most important take-away I got. It's necessary to give feedback that they can apply to their next project or assignment. If most learning occurs outside of the classroom, it's the responsibility of the instructor to match that effort with mentorship and guidance.
Learn what my strengths are and make a plan to improve my weaknesses.
