Motivating students to learn can be enhanced by sharing why you care about the subject matter and its relevancy in "real-life". This also lends to a strengthened relationship with your students.

Integrating storytelling is a great way to engage learners and assign meaning to otherwise mundane topics.

It is important to show students that you care about them as people.

I like how the course suggested to let adult learners include how their life experience can contribute to their learning and educational experience.

Utilize mini-lessons where possible-this will keep students focused in spurts of 15-18 minute increments.

It is important to learn students names and how to pronounce them correctly!

I learned that the syllabus is a great way to hold students accountable. Setting clear expectations in the beginning is necessary to avoid confusion later on in the semester.

I learned how important it is to be a cheerleader but be wary of becoming a babysitter. It is easy to slip into the role of a babysitter, especially when we care about our students and their success. Setting clear boundaries is beneficial to the teacher and student.
