That it is good to have ice breakers and get to know everyone as well as letting your students get to know you a little bit. It helps to show that you, as the instructor, are human and it helps the instructors get to know who the students are.
You need to plan and have checklist to stay on point and focused so that if last minute questions come about and or something goes off topic you have a checklist to fall back on to get back on track. That is why having a syllabus is important cause it keeps everyone on check.
Learn and be pro-active, understand the students and the environment we are in. Understand and have a personal development plan so that you are always learning. Education is student learning vs just plain teaching. Showing professionalism through and through to set an example.
