The 5 C's be Credible, Candid, Compassionate, Committed and Clear are great. Exploring professional growth and development in your own career to help you constantly improve on your own teaching abilities. Reflecting on the instructors that impacted your learning and trying to find ways to engage students based on previous experiences.

Your students, like your children, will mimick you because you are their example. So it is important to model the behavior you want to see.

Professionalism is important.  Teaching is more important.  Learning is the main goal.

Always remain professional and lead by example.

As an instructor you wear many hats such as judge, cheerleader, model etc.

As leaders we have to understand that the model we display to our students is a reflection of what is expected from them. Building a rapport with the students is a key to their success and knowing the boundaries of friends and not pals.

Developing as an instructor involves continuous learning, reflection, and refinement of teaching practices.

Lead by example! As an instructor you are there as a guidance into their career pathway not there to hang out.

When you walk in to a learning environment try to remember that you will be judged immediately. The way you dress, the way you carry yourself, sends messages of your standards and expectations. Lead by example.

Be yourself, show your passion for your career choice, use common sense.

Apply Model, Manage, and Motivate! This module highlighted the importance of professionalism and being a good example for the students.

I learned that it's important to be passionate about the subject you're teaching, and to be humble about how smart you think you are. Professionalism is also stressed, as well as keeping up with the different technological advancements that become part of teaching.

Show an example of leadership and knowledge of your materials.

I learned that I should continue to take classes and continue to develop skills to improve my teaching skills throughout my career because it takes more than just knowledge in the field to be an effective instructor.

There is a holistic approach to teaching that requires proficiency in several areas: the ability to motivate students without becoming too familiar, take charge and lead the class by competency and having presence, and maintain focus within the classroom through motivation and discipline as required.

Appreciated the comments about different teaching styles. Always promoting our professional development.

The importance of making a plan to improve myself as an instructor through schedules and seminars!

i learned to be myself and use that to reach and teach my students.

Lead by example

Comment on Gary Wilkerson's post: I have learned that in order to be a good instructor I must first show myself to be friendly and available to all students, then I must be diligent at studying the course information so that I can teach it well.
