Being a role model by using  the 5 C's and learning throughout.

Being an instructor has multiple roles under that umbrella. It is important to be a model for the students, to follow the "5-Cs" and to also be a motivator for your students. Learning can be an arduous task for some students, and it is important to show them the progress they have made thus far in their education and to give them to drive to continue.

The 5 “C’s” (credible, candid, compassionate, committed and clear).  Always lead by example, be on time, prepared, and maintain a professional environment.

Respecting the students time is the most important take-away I got.  It's necessary to give feedback that they can apply to their next project or assignment.  If most learning occurs outside of the classroom, it's the responsibility of the instructor to match that effort with mentorship and guidance.

Learn what my strengths are and make a plan to improve my weaknesses.

Setting the standard and leading by example

You can be a role model and supportive to your students, but not a pal. There are professional boundaries and limitations that should be applied when offering support. Do not be afraid to seek advice from your peers.

I will want to listen and watch my colleagues for tips and tricks to learn different teaching styles. I need to be humble with the students and not assume anything. I want to connect with them to know how to support and encourage them to keep them engaged in their learning. I want to be professional and show excitement about the subject matter.

It is critically important not to try to present as someone you are not. Student will see right through it, and you will lose credibility.

What I took from this portion of the module was how necessary it is to be prepared for instruction, mentally and physically, to continue to project and help model the professionalism that will be expected of them upon graduation.  Remembering too that while I'm here to give instruction, learning is lifelong and I must endeavor to continue to improve my own "craft."

Set the example, be prepared, and engage your students!

Modeling the behavior that you expect from your students is the easiest way to teach. You must demonstrate professional standards of dress, language and enthusiasm for your topic.

Educators in the classrooms model, manage and motivate their students by being professional, knowledgeable about the subject matter, punctual, appropriately dressed, and excited about what they are teaching.

Biggest take-aways are bringing a sense of humanity, passion, compassion, and curiosity to the classroom and to developing as the leader of the classroom.

Instructors must maintain professionalism and lead by example. We are lifelong learners.

model professionalism and be engaging .
